It’s that time of year again. And this time, you really want to make your new space…well, yours.

You don’t have to dig deep in your pockets to make your room more suitable for you. Everything you need to make your place feel like home, is at your local thrift store!

Here is a great article describing the things to watch out for when you’re thrifting. – http://www.sheknows.com/home-and-gardening/articles/808080/thrift-shop-decorating

This past weekend I went to Savers to look for a larger container for my Lucky Bamboo plant. While on the hunt, I found a stool, that I originally picked out as a great meditation chair. I picked it up for $2.99, grabbed a glass bowl for $1.99 then went to the dollar store next door and grabbed a bag of rocks. I ended up with this quaint little table piece for about $6.

Later I can cover the stool with a layer of foam and some fabric for that meditation stool.

Not only do plants make your space but they purify the air too! Here is a website dedicated to teaching you about house plants, brought to you by the University of Illinois. – http://urbanext.illinois.edu/houseplants/

So hit your favorite thrifting spot and make your space! I found that doing homework was much easier when I actually enjoyed the space I was doing it in. 🙂
